A LITTLE CLARITY GOES A LONG WAY
Good questions.
Thoughtful answers.
The essentials for learning, kits, boxes and finding your place at the table.
Getting started
I’m new to sourdough. Where should I begin?
Choose “My first sourdough” in Start here. You’ll set up your tools, learn to maintain a starter, work through a first loaf and learn to read the result. You can take any lesson again.
What is available in the academy today?
The founding preview contains 100 written lessons in 25 learning paths, organized into six guided journeys. You can use the calculators, knowledge checks and first-loaf planner. Sign in with ChatGPT to save lesson progress and baking journal notes.
Are these recorded video masterclasses?
The current academy is a written learning library with practice exercises. Recorded video instruction has not been added. The first live sourdough class is online. See the Classes page for the date, price and booking status.
Are the formulas the bakery’s retail recipes?
They are educational starting formulas for small practice batches. Some lessons teach technique and should be used with a complete recipe. They are not presented as tested replicas of Sol & Sahara Goods retail products.
Starter kits & baking boxes
What comes in The First Rise Kit?
The concept includes dehydrated sourdough starter, a proofing basket, bench and bowl scrapers, a dough whisk, a Rise & Ritual by Sol & Sahara Goods branded apron and hat, printed guidance and 30 days of Home Baker learning access. Final product specifications will be listed before purchase.
How do I activate the learning access in my kit?
Open Activate a kit, sign in to the account where you want to keep your learning, and enter the one-time code packed with your box. Your 30 days begin on first activation. Re-entering a redeemed code does not extend the period, and no recurring charge is created.
Where do I order a kit or box?
Check the Kit shop page for availability. Published, available offers open in the existing Sol & Sahara Goods shop, where you review the full offer, delivery choices and price before paying. Draft concepts remain on the interest list.
What do I supply at home?
You’ll need a gram scale, starter jar, mixing bowl and cover, flour, water, salt, an oven and suitable bread cookware. The kit readiness checklist and each lesson explain the supplies for that project.
How are the monthly and seasonal boxes different?
The Monthly Ritual Box is planned around one project per month. The Seasonal Baker’s Box is planned around two coordinated projects in each of four seasonal collections. Both build on your foundation tools, so the apron, hat and basic starter tools are included with the initial kit rather than repeated in every box.
Where do you ship, and what does shipping cost?
Shipping regions, charges and dispatch dates are not finalized. Kit and box prices are also pending. Joining an interest list does not create an order, reserve stock or collect a payment.
Can I choose an apron or hat size?
Apparel style, fit, colors and size options are being finalized. Those details will be available before an order can be placed. You can share fit preferences in the kit interest form.
Are ingredients suitable for my allergies?
Final ingredient lists and allergen disclosures will be provided before each box is offered for sale. Do not assume a box, lesson or shared class kitchen is free of an allergen. Review the specific project information before buying or participating.
Membership & classes
Does buying the kit automatically start a subscription?
No automatic enrollment is planned. The kit is a one-time purchase with a proposed 30-day learning period. Continuing with a paid membership would require an active choice and payment authorization. Enrollment is not open yet.
Are the boxes included in digital membership?
Physical kits and recurring boxes are separate from digital membership. The planned box includes access to its linked project lessons; the exact scope and access duration will be stated in the final offer.
Can I attend virtually or in person?
Our first live sourdough class is online via Google Meet, with 20 seats. Visit the Classes page for the schedule and price. Future in-person workshops are planned for Fayetteville, Georgia.
How do I cancel a first-class booking?
Email info@solandsahara.com from your booking address. You can find the refund deadline and cancellation policy on the first live class page.
Does registering interest reserve a class seat?
No. It saves your preferences so the first class calendar can reflect what learners want. When booking opens, complete the class checkout to confirm your seat.
Your learning account
What is saved to my account?
Marked-complete lessons, baking journal entries and submitted interests are saved when you are signed in. Return with the same ChatGPT account to find them in My learning.
My code says it is unavailable. What should I do?
Check every character and use the full RR- code. Each code can be redeemed by one account only. If you already activated it, sign in to that same account. After repeated attempts, wait 15 minutes. Contact Sol & Sahara Goods if the problem continues.
Can I edit or remove an interest?
Open My learning, find Your saved interests and select Edit preferences or Remove. Removal deletes that interest and its submitted contact preferences from the academy. It does not cancel an order; no orders or subscriptions are currently active here.
Why did my checklist or knowledge check reset?
Lesson practice checkmarks and knowledge-check answers are temporary. Use Mark lesson complete for saved overall progress. The bake planner’s settings, checks and timer stay only in the browser where you created them; they do not sync to another device.
Will I receive a confirmation email?
The preview confirms saved interests on screen and in My learning. It does not send automatic emails or payment receipts.
