The flour & water studio

Choose flour by the bake you want and adjust water through observation.

LESSON 2 OF 4 · 6 min read

Observe absorption

The same water weight can make two flours feel noticeably different.

Go to guided practice & lesson check

Let’s work through it

  1. Mix three tiny samples, each with 30 g of a different flour and 20 g water. Label the bowls and cover.
  2. Compare immediately, then again after 30 minutes. Notice dry pockets, stickiness and resistance to stirring.
  3. Use the result as an observation exercise, not proof that the samples will ferment or bake identically. Do not taste raw flour mixtures.

LEARN IT. TRY IT. MAKE IT YOURS.
