Make consistent scone shapes and understand how finishing changes the crust.

LESSON 4 OF 4 · 6 min read

Develop a new flavor carefully

Start with a clear base and one thoughtful addition.

Go to guided practice & lesson check

Let’s work through it

  1. Choose an inclusion suited to the dough, such as chopped chocolate or a modest amount of citrus zest.
  2. Keep added moisture in mind when using fresh fruit. Start from a tested fruit-scone formula if the change is substantial.
  3. Record inclusion weight, dough handling and bake results. Repeat a successful trial before increasing its size.

LEARN IT. TRY IT. MAKE IT YOURS.
